The Virtual College of Learned Animals is the most prestigious institution of higher learning for pets in the world. The exact location of VCLA is unknown, but rumor has it that the bucolic tree-lined campus is situated on more than 100 rolling acres of prime New Jersey real estate somewhere between the boyhood homes of Bruce Springsteen and Tony Soprano.
VCLA is dedicated to the proposition that all pets are created equal. The college is non-sectarian and non-denominational and does not discriminate on the basis of color or creed, gender or breed, temperament or speed, tails or scales, legs or wings or any other things. Originally founded in 1979 as a college for dogs and cats with the motto "Canines and felines in academia superium," VCLA opened its doors to all pets in 1980 when, by special request, it awarded an independent study degree in the field of Polylingualism to a very deserving and talkative parrot.
On that day, VCLA adopted its current motto: No pet left behind!
